If you use an N plate at the top of the truss you will probably use a U plate on the bottom of the truss

Our custom internal flange joist hangers are made from 3/16" A36 plate and are for connecting your beams to a wall or another beam at a right angle

The VT4 plate is useful for connecting truss bottom chords to top chords where the bottom chord hangs from the top chord (as in collar ties/tie beams)

The TC4 is useful for connecting king and queen posts to truss bottom tie beams

VB6 If you use an NThe VB6 plate is useful for connecting truss bottom chords to top chords where the top chord sits on the bottom chord. V plates connect to roof members so they depend on roof pitch. Please choose the correct pitch and plate thickness from the dropdown. Please refer to the video to help you with choosing the correct V Plate. 3 16" steel is a good choice for purely decorative plates. 1 4" is better for applications that need structural support.
